Chimney service built around Temecula homes
Temecula grew fast, which means the overwhelming majority of chimneys here are factory-built metal fireplaces inside stucco chases — a very different service profile from older Southern California cities, and one that a lot of sweeps handle poorly.
Redhawk, Harveston, Wolf Creek and Vail Ranch are 1990s and 2000s tracts with prefab units, sheet-metal chase covers and stucco surrounds. De Luz and the wine country edges are rural properties with brush exposure and, in some cases, true masonry fireplaces or wood stoves.
Intense inland summer heat and cold winter nights cycle stucco and metal hard, opening seams at the chase cover and cracking stucco at the corners. Add fall wind events off the hills and both water intrusion and ember control become annual maintenance items.
