Chimney service built around San Jose homes
San Jose's chimneys are mostly postwar. Ranch homes from the 1950s through the 1970s dominate, and the single most common request we get here is converting a tired open masonry fireplace to a clean, efficient gas or EPA-certified insert.
Willow Glen and Rose Garden homes have traditional brick stacks that respond well to relining. Eichlers in the Fairglen tracts have signature open hearths and flat roofs — the flashing detail there is unlike anything else in the Bay Area and needs a specialist touch. Newer Almaden and Evergreen subdivisions have factory-built fireplaces where the chase cover and termination are the wear points.
The South Bay is drier and hotter than the peninsula, so water intrusion is less common than in San Francisco, but summer heat cycling cracks crowns and the valley's poor winter air quality means wood-burn restrictions get enforced. Gas and pellet conversions are the practical answer for most families here.
